China Expands Fast-Track Drug and Device Access Across the Greater Bay Area
The Greater Bay Area fast-track scheme for Hong Kong and Macao drugs and devices has been widened again, adding clinically urgent medicines that are already approved in Hong Kong or Macao but not yet on the mainland register. Designated hospitals in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai can now use the expanded list under controlled conditions. For international patients the practical effect is continuity of treatment: medicines they already take at home can often be continued in China instead of being switched. Hospitals must still document informed consent and report adverse events. NiceCare tracks each update of the list and publishes the affected therapeutic areas, so that patients and referring clinicians can check availability before travel.
