International Departments Take a Larger Share of Hospital Revenue

International departments at leading public hospitals now contribute a visibly larger share of total revenue than three years ago, according to figures presented at an industry meeting in Beijing. High-value services such as complex surgery, precision oncology and executive health screening drive most of the growth, while outpatient interpreting remains a cost centre. Hospitals are responding by building dedicated patient-flow teams and by negotiating direct-billing contracts with overseas payers.
