Foreign Physician Registration Pilot Extends to More Provinces

A pilot that allows foreign-trained physicians to register and practise in designated international medical zones has been extended to additional provinces. Participating hospitals may hire specialists for defined scopes of practice, usually in oncology, cardiology and rehabilitation.
The change eases a long-standing bottleneck: patients who want a doctor trained in their home country can now be treated by one inside China, with local licensing oversight.
Hospitals interested in the programme should confirm the current documentation requirements with their provincial health commission.
